Vulcanising

By vulcanizing our 3d prints between layers of silicone, we get a mold with heat-resistant and flexible properties. The molds are used for the centrifugal casting process as well as the spincasting process.

Vulcanization

Due to the high pressure and temperature, the silicone will briefly become ‘liquid’ and make a clear impression in every corner of the model. Shortly after this form of ”fluidity” the molecules change into a solid resilient connection and the mold remains dimensionally stable but permanently elastic.
